Posting a Collaboration Opportunity
- 1
Click "Post Opportunity"
Find this button in the Collaboration Board section of your dashboard or community networking area.
- 2
Fill in Project Details
Provide a clear title and description. Explain what the project is about, its goals, and why it matters.
- 3
Specify Skills Needed
List the specific skills you're looking for. Be as specific as possible - "React" is better than just "programming."
- 4
Set Time Expectations
Indicate expected time commitment (hours per week) and project duration. Be realistic to attract the right people.
- 5
Publish Your Post
Review and publish. Your opportunity will be visible to community members who can then express interest.
Writing an Effective Project Post
✓ Good Example
"Pacific Traditional Medicine Database"
"Building a searchable database of traditional Pacific medicine knowledge, with consent-based community contributions. Looking for database developers familiar with PostgreSQL and researchers with ethnobotany background. ~3 hours/week for 4 months."
✗ Poor Example
"Need Help with Project"
"I have an idea and need people to help. Looking for anyone who wants to work on something cool. Message me if interested."
Too vague - no clear project description, skills needed, or time commitment.
Expressing Interest in a Project
Click "Interested" on a project card to notify the project owner
Add a brief message explaining why you're interested and what skills you bring
Wait for the project owner to review and respond to your interest
If accepted, you'll be connected with the team to discuss next steps
💡 Pro Tip: Your Profile Matters
Project owners can see your profile when you express interest. Make sure your skills and experience are up to date. A complete profile significantly increases your chances of being selected for projects.
