Navigation Management

Manage your site's navigation menus to control how visitors navigate through your public pages and content.

Accessing Navigation Settings

Navigate to /moderator/site-content and click the "Navigation" tab to manage your site's navigation menus.

Creating a Navigation Menu

  1. 1. Click "Create Menu"

    Click the blue "Create Menu" button in the navigation tab.

  2. 2. Enter Menu Details
    • Menu Name - A unique identifier (e.g., "main", "footer")
    • Description - Optional description of the menu's purpose
    • Active - Toggle to enable/disable the menu
  3. 3. Save the Menu

    Click "Create" to save your new menu.

Adding Navigation Items

  1. 1. Select a Menu

    Find the menu you want to add items to.

  2. 2. Click "Add Item"

    Click the "Add Item" button on the menu card.

  3. 3. Configure the Item
    • Label - The text displayed in the menu
    • URL - The link destination (internal or external)
    • Icon - Optional icon name (e.g., "Home", "Users", "Calendar")
    • Active - Toggle to show/hide the item
  4. 4. Save the Item

    Click "Add Item" to save.

  • Internal Pages:
    • / - Home page
    • /communities - Communities page
    • /p/about - CMS page with slug "about"
    • /docs - Documentation
  • External Links:
    • https://example.com - External website

Reordering Items

To change the order of navigation items:

  1. 1. Hover over a navigation item to reveal the drag handle
  2. 2. Click and hold the grip icon on the left
  3. 3. Drag the item up or down to the desired position
  4. 4. Release to drop the item in its new position
  5. 5. Changes are saved automatically

Editing and Deleting

Edit a Menu

  1. 1. Click the edit (pencil) icon on the menu
  2. 2. Update the menu name, description, or status
  3. 3. Click "Update" to save changes

Delete Items

  1. 1. Hover over the item to delete
  2. 2. Click the red trash icon
  3. 3. Confirm the deletion

Menu Names

The menu name is used to identify the menu in the system. Common names include:

  • main - Primary site navigation
  • footer - Footer navigation links
  • mobile - Mobile-specific navigation

Cache Note

Navigation changes may take up to 1 minute to appear on the public site due to caching. The cache is automatically invalidated when you save changes.
